The people at Harmonix obviously know a good thing when they see it and have come back with the sequel, Rock Band 2. Yeah, I know, not exactly exciting but it pretty much tells you up front what you're going to get: even more of Rock Band's incredible music simulation, and this time it's dialed all the way up to eleven. For those unfamiliar with the genre, which means you’re probably living under a rock for the past year, Rock Band is the ultimate culmination of all those rhythm games and karaoke; you and your friends can rock out to your heart's content and rack up all those points with classic hits from Bon Jovi to AC/DC. Rock Band 2 is a refinement of the original Rock Band's features. An actual character creator is now included so you can create your own personal characters to take on the road to fame. A road that is pretty much the only reason you should be getting this game. Gone are the random play lists of the original that are now replaced by actual venues with their own particular lists to enable you to pick and choose. An improved matchmaking system also lets you hookup with anyone online for a quick pick-me-up game or an awesome battle of the bands. This is definitely the party game of the year.
