Description:

Nintendo is like a monolithic juggernaut on the video game scene with its long history of being an industry leader in both hardware and software, though it has had some occasional bumps on the road. The Wii, unfortunate naming aside, is their next-gen flagship and it is a great inheritor of Nintendo's gaming legacy. Boasting its next-generation processor and its new proprietary motion-control based system, it also somehow manages to be the cheapest option available in the console wars. Compared to the PS3 and the Xbox 360, you don't have to break the bank to get a taste of the cutting edge in graphics and processing speed. All of these are enhanced by the Wii's channel system; providing access to normal gaming and the Internet for added bonuses. It also packs its own built-in game, Wii Sports, which is a definite crowd pleaser with its simulations of bowling, tennis, baseball and golf. The game library is robust, too. You don't just get to play new games but also have access to the entire Nintendo gaming library via Virtual Console. Just five to ten dollars will get you most any game in Nintendo's history. Seriously, if you don't have the dough for the 360 or the PS3, just go with the Wii and you can still have a very grand time.
