A PS3 exclusive, this game, I dare say, is probably a good enough reason for you to buy the console. I mean it – this game alone will deliver enough game play and fun to last you a long time and to experience it is worth the PS3's price tag. It sounds like a bold claim but I stand beside it – this game is a masterpiece. First of all, let's star with the graphics. The incredible CANVAS graphics engine presents what looks like moving watercolor paintings on the screen; the lush environments are nothing to sneer at either. Incredibly stylized, it is definitely a unique look for any video game. Secondly, let's consider the game play. Everyone knows tactical RPGs ever since Final Fantasy Tactics hit the PS1 and Valkyria Chronicles holds up the banner of smart, tactical combat for the PS3. There's nothing quite like seeing a plan come together and see your enemies fall one by one. Simple and intuitive, it doesn't have the multitude of classes of FFT but the five classes are enough to provide a myriad of possibilities. Lastly, all of this is wrapped up in a magnificently epic storyline that makes you want to play continually. Run, don't walk, to the nearest game store to pick up this title.
